St. Patrick’s Day at the Jersey Shore is more than just wearing green. Every March, shore towns come alive with parades, live music, and packed boardwalks celebrating Irish heritage and the start of spring by the ocean.
One of the biggest celebrations happens in Atlantic City with the annual Atlantic City St. Patrick’s Day Parade on the famous Atlantic City Boardwalk. The parade steps off around 1 PM and features marching bands, Irish dancers, bagpipers, and colorful floats along the oceanfront, drawing tens of thousands of spectators each year.
Further south, North Wildwood hosts one of the shore’s most festive Irish celebrations with the North Wildwood St. Patrick’s Day Celebration and Parade. The day typically begins with a morning mass followed by a ceremony and a lively parade marching along Olde New Jersey Avenue, bringing together local bands, Irish groups, and community organizations.
In Sea Isle City, the Sea Isle City St. Patrick’s Day Parade is another fan favorite. The celebration features green outfits everywhere, contests for the best dressed, and a parade that winds through town before the parties continue at local bars and restaurants.
Up the shore, Seaside Heights also gets in on the fun with its own St. Patrick’s Day parade along the Boulevard, usually kicking off at noon with floats, music, and plenty of Irish spirit.
From parades on the boardwalk to bar crawls and live music throughout the weekend, St. Patrick’s Day is one of the first big celebrations of the year at the Jersey Shore. It’s a reminder that winter is ending, spring is around the corner, and the shore towns are starting to wake up again.
