The Ocean City Music Pier

The Ocean City Music Pier

One of the Jersey Shore's most recognizable landmarks is the Ocean City Music Pier. Since its opening in 1929, it has served as a hub for community, culture, and music while standing proudly on the boardwalk at Moorlyn Terrace. Originally intended to be a place where the arts could flourish, the pier was constructed following the devastating fire that destroyed the boardwalk in 1927.

Numerous performers, including both local community groups and internationally renowned acts, have performed at the Music Pier over the years. It has played host to national touring bands, comedy shows, festivals, and the Ocean City Pops Orchestra's summer concerts. It is unlike any other venue because of its special location directly over the Atlantic Ocean, which allows guests to enjoy live performances while listening to the sound of the waves.

Beyond performances, the Music Pier has served as a venue for craft fairs, neighborhood get-togethers, and holiday festivities, solidifying its status as Ocean City's cultural center. It has been a representation of the town's tenacity and commitment to uniting people via tradition, music, and the arts for almost a century.

Whether you’re catching a concert under the stars or strolling past its arched windows on the boardwalk, the Ocean City Music Pier remains a timeless piece of Jersey Shore history.
